Bern, the Swiss capital, is a city of quiet grandeur. Its UNESCO-listed old town sits on a dramatic peninsula formed by a loop of the Aare river, with the Bernese Alps visible on clear days as a stunning backdrop. Unlike flashier Swiss cities, Bern has an understated elegance — sandstone arcades, flower-filled window boxes, and a pace of life that feels unhurried. For couples who want Swiss quality and Alpine beauty without the intensity of larger resort towns, Bern offers intimate celebrations in a setting of exceptional charm. With 13 wedding vendors in the area, service quality is high and personal.
Bern's Altstadt is a remarkably well-preserved medieval city center. Historic guildhalls, vaulted cellars beneath the famous arcades, and elegant townhouses provide atmospheric venues for weddings of every size. The cobblestone streets, the Zytglogge clock tower, and the Münster cathedral create a backdrop that feels timelessly European.
The Aare river wraps around Bern's old town in a striking horseshoe bend. Venues with elevated terraces overlooking the turquoise river and the tree-lined valley below offer a unique natural setting within walking distance of the city center. Summer ceremonies on these terraces are unforgettable.
Just outside Bern, the Emmental and Bernese Oberland regions offer rural venues with dramatic Alpine panoramas. Converted farmhouses, mountain restaurants, and hillside estates provide a more relaxed Swiss countryside experience. On clear days, the view stretches from the Eiger to the Jungfrau — a wedding backdrop that needs no decoration.
Bern's Bundeshaus (Federal Palace) area and the nearby grand hotels carry the gravitas of a national capital. The Bellevue Palace and other historic hotels offer refined ballrooms and event spaces with views over the Aare valley and the Alps. These venues suit couples who want Swiss formality and impeccable service.

Full-Time Planner (Event Coordinator) in Enger, Germany
A wedding planner can take on the whole organisation (full-service) or just specific parts (partial / day-of coordination). Tasks include vendor coordination, timeline, budget tracking and on-the-day logistics.
Full-service planners typically charge 10–15% of the total wedding budget, or a flat fee from €3,000+. Day-of coordinators start around €800–1,500.
Full-service fits if you have less than 3 months to plan or no time to research vendors. Partial planning works if you've booked the venue and key vendors but need help with logistics, timeline and the day itself.
A full-service planner 9–12+ months before the wedding. Day-of coordinators 2–3 months out.
